You have probably seen your friends and some influencers  comment on the benefits of LED Light Therapy, but you feel confused about which colour light is correct for your skin.

At Maxwells Skin & Body Clinic we can answer all your questions and prescribe a result driven treatment plan that best suits you.

First, how many lights do we use in our Clinic?

With our LED light, we can select 4 types of lights that go from red to purple, for different benefits and have completely different results.

What does each one work for?

Red light

  • Collagen Stimulation: Red light penetrates deeply into the skin and stimulates collagen production, which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin elasticity.
  • Inflammation Reduction: Red light has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe irritated or reddened skin, and reduce inflammation caused by conditions such as acne or rosacea.
  • Improvement in Blood Circulation: Red light can increase blood circulation in the skin, which can help improve overall skin health and promote a more radiant and healthy appearance.
  • Wound Healing: Red light therapy is also often used to aid in the wound healing process, as it can stimulate cell regeneration and accelerate the recovery of damaged skin.

Blue light

  • Inflammation Reduction: Like red light, blue light also has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe irritated skin and reduce inflammation caused by acne or other skin conditions.
  • Improvement in Skin Texture: Blue light therapy can help improve the overall texture of the skin by promoting cell renewal and stimulating collagen production. This can help smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of scars and enlarged pores.
  • Treatment of Seborrheic Dermatitis: Blue light has also been used in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis, a skin condition that causes scales, redness, and itching in areas such as the scalp, face, and chest.

Orange light

  • Collagen Stimulation: Orange light can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and help stimulate collagen production. This can help improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Improved Blood Circulation: Orange light can help increase blood circulation in the skin, which can enhance the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells, thus promoting healthier and more radiant skin.
  • Skin Rejuvenation: Orange light therapy can help revitalize and rejuvenate the skin by stimulating cell regeneration and improving skin renewal. This can help reduce skin dullness and restore its natural glow.
  • Inflammation Reduction: Some research suggests that orange light may also have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help soothe irritated skin and reduce inflammation caused by conditions such as acne or rosacea.

Purple light

  • Antibacterial: Purple light has antibacterial properties that can help fight the bacteria responsible for acne, such as Propionibacterium acnes, which may contribute to reducing the frequency and severity of acne breakouts.
  • Anti-inflammatory: Purple light has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation associated with acne and other skin conditions, like rosacea.
  • Healing Stimulation: Purple light therapy can help speed up the skin healing process by promoting the production of collagen and elastin, which may help reduce the appearance of scars and promote smoother, more even skin.
  • Improved Skin Texture: By stimulating cell renewal and improving blood circulation in the skin, purple light can help enhance the overall texture of the skin, making it look smoother and more supple.

It’s important to remember that results may vary depending on the individual skin condition.
